YOUR DIVE EXPEDITION

Beyond the horizon of Western Mexico lies the legendary island of Guadalupe. A land born of volcanic activity, draped in fog, guarded by the oceans most recognized and respected predator. The Great White sharks of Guadalupe are some of the ocean’s most intelligent and successful hunters, returning to the island each year to mate and feed on the abundance of seals and sea lions that dot “La Lupita’s” rugged coastline. The unrivaled water clarity and calm seas surrounding Guadalupe have solidified its reputation as the best location in the world to observe Great White shark behavior.

This land of giants provides our guests with unparalleled opportunities to watch Great White sharks emerge from the depths of the ocean floor, stalk, investigate, attack, and devour prey all before your very eyes. This once in a lifetime experience opens the eyes of spectators to the intense size, power and intelligence of the Great White. The amazing spectacle that follows your first sighting solidifies its place as the oceans most recognized and predator.

To begin our expedition, guests will be provided transportation from our initial rendezvous location – Fairfield Inn & Suites 3900 Old Town Ave, San Diego, Ca. There you will meet with your Shark Addicts guide to begin your expedition. *Guests are responsible for pickup and drop off accommodations at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, San Diego, CA, Old Town.  Our expedition will then embark by caravan from San Diego, California to the shores of Ensenada, Mexico where the rest of our crew will be anxiously waiting to welcome you aboard our fleets champion vessel, the Southern Sport.

After you have settled into your rooms, we will return to the main deck for an overview of the boat and it’s safety procedures. Following our safety briefing, we begin our 16 hour crossing deep into the heart of the Mexican pacific. Come morning you will wake as we make our final approach to the dramatic landscape of the Island of Guadalupe. At that time the crew will begin preparing the 3 reinforced aluminum cages in anticipation for our first day of diving. Guests are able to chose from multiple surface cages as well as time in our fully submersible cage to fully observe every angle of the white sharks behavior.

BE A PART OF THE SCIENCE

GoPros, still photography, and videography are all highly encouraged as we work to gather information and ID the current sharks within the area. Guests photos may be submitted for identification of new sharks to the island as well as documentation of established sharks returning to the area. All images are compiled into the “White sharks of Guadalupe Island Photo ID Guide” for scientific reference. This catalog of white sharks allows operators and researchers to track and document aggregating Great Whites around the island.

Although Great whites are the stars of these excursions, multiple species within Guadalupe’s ecosystem can be observed by guests. Giant yellowfin tuna, elephant and fur seals can be seen along the coastal waters of Guadalupe as well as turtles, dolphins, and variety of aviary species.

After 4 days of white shark diving the Southern Sport will pull anchor at the end of our final day to begin the bittersweet overnight journey back to Ensenada. Once we have arrived back at port our group will depart back to San Diego to conclude our expedition. This once in a lifetime trip will hold you in suspense from beginning to end, and will remain a treasured memory for years to come. We look forward to providing you with not only an amazing in water experience but the opportunity to enrich your experience by sharing our knowledge with you at the close of each day of diving.
